FITBIT UPDATES- WEEK 6

Image result for SHOES WALKING

Ahhh yes the smell of sweet, sweet VICTORY!

FINALLY !!!

I have totally finally OUTDONE myself, Phew! Its was a tough month wondering if that week would ever come showing I could outdo my best weeks walk in week 2.

I did it YES!!  At 72.45 km , giving me a daily average of 10.35 km per day, 104,394 steps for the week!! (wow, boy did I feel it).

Can I hear a woot woot !!

Im so excited! I only hope I can continue this momentum.

Last week I had a change in my work location and the office is sorta smaller in some ways, so I have been struggling to get my 10k in these past few days.

Last night I went for a walk with having only 4.7k for the day pushing myself to reach that 10k mark. I was determined!!! But gosh was I exhausted after. .

It took an extra long time as I helped the dog out with a nice walk, as I always do. But last night with spring in the air I suppose; he found each 5 steps just too much too resist and stopped more than usual.

So this 5.25k took almost 1.5 hours instead of my normal 45min  😦 (Im so leaving the dog home the next time).

As another side effect I was all pumped up and couldn’t sleep, my trusty FITBIT HR shows I had 4.39 hours sleep last night.

(Yawn, Im so tired today, go figure!)

I definitely need to get more sleep in general with my weekly average of 6.5 hours.

One cool thing I have noticed , and another reason why I love the heart rate monitor on my FITBIT, is that my resting heart rate has decreased to almost 10 points less per day in the past week….that is awesome, norm is 96-97, now is 85-86!

So wish me good luck and see you next week!

FITBIT Update- Week 5

Two weeks ago I told myself that I would set a new goal of 12,000 steps per day, as my previous goal was 10,000(although surpassing it often). Well I did do that, I set the goal, and I met the goal.  :).

What I failed to realize is that by setting this “new goal” I was actually setting myself up to underachieve my daily step count compared to my highest steps/km walked per week in weeks prior, or at least in my best weeks stats.

Of course I wasn’t really paying attention to when my FITBIT Weekly Summary began and ended for the weekly stats, but now I know its from Monday- Sunday each week.

I cant wait till next report as this week is only half over and my SCORES are already above my last highest score (tee hee hee).

A new goal (although challenging) is 10k a day..which really works out to approx 15,000 steps a day. I know I can do it!!!

Week 4 FitBit Updates!

So Week 4 was okay I suppose.

I was still not able to beat my best week 1 or week 2 stats as of yet…

.

Recap

Week 1- 89,635 Steps- 62.26 kl

Week 2- 95,067 Steps- 65.98 kl

Week 3- 62,165 Steps – 43.14 kl

Week 4-  87,628 Steps- 60.81kl

I suppose LIFE HAPPENS! And in that life, some really poopy stuff  falls on us, like losing someone we love, which frankly sucked the energy right out of me last week.

I’m still trekking and not giving up though, not at all! Now if I were to look at that based on an approx month of walking, Id say pretty impressive!!!

Total Kilometers walked in 1 month….232.19 kl

Life will always get in the way a little but I know I can outdo myself for my next weeks stats.

So here I go again! See you in week 5!

Fitbit Update Week 3 down!

Well I was hoping I could have better stats this week however the darn flu bug gotz me and my entire household on Easter weekend..of course being the strongest (I’m guessing), I got hit last on Easter Monday & the next day, blah!

.

Last week had me stepping high with 95,067 steps & 65.98kl, this week is a little  less ( see below)

I’m feeling pretty good now though (sorta, still grieving the loss of my beautiful family member) but feeling more and more confidant about my steps.

I’ve decided I will be a teenie bit brave starting today and set my new goal for 12,000 steps a day. The weather is nice and I plan to suck in as much natural vitamin D as I can with the great outdoors and lunch time walks..wish me luck!

Fitbit Summary of Week 2

Image result for walking

So here it is…Im happy with my accomplishment! I increased my steps by approx 10,000 and also my kl from my last weeks 62.26 kl to my current 65.98 .

Yes this #FitbitchargeHR is still motivating me! Aside from the last two days that had me unfortunate enough to catch a wonderful flu virus which had me bed ridden for a full evening(usually the time I get my biggest walk in) and of course the entire next day ( which was yesterday). Then in my foggy state of mind I forgot to put my #fitbitchargeHR back on after my shower today leaving me to feel so utterly disconnected :(. However as I’m also still in recovery mode from this Flu attack(you know sore body aching muscles, low energy etc) my body does still need some rest and TLC , I’m certain Ill be back to my full energetic state by tomorrow.

I’m certainly happy with this accomplishment and I’m almost ready to increase my daily step goal, but I will give myself one more week.

Fitbit- Week 1 down- what have I’ve learned….

Well here I am. I’m now at the end of week 1 having used my recently purchased Fitbit Charge HR for the past seven days.

My first goal was to challenge myself to meet 10,000 steps a day.
So before I go any further with my personal review I wanted to display my stats for the week…ta daaaaa!!!

Weekly Totals
• 89,566 steps
• 225 floors
• 62.21 kl

Now with those awesome stats there is no way in the world I could feel anything but proud!

 3bd43aa.jpg

What amazing piece of wisdom can I share from my experience?…hmmm…well the first thing I learned is that I walk a lot more that I thought I did in a day, in general that is. In fact many days I have far exceeded the goal that I had set (who woulda guessed that?)

Prior to using this device I had no idea that I had such a busy step day. I’m not saying I would’ve reached my new set daily set goals without the Fitbit motivating me, especially the cost related motivation, but truth is I have never really had such an accurate pedometer reading before, never, and I’ve owned a few pedometers. As a reflection I now feel this knowledge itself is empowering!

Biggest question ??? Did the Fitbit motivate me? Hell yeah!

And not just the device, but the whole package that comes as part of the experience in owing a fitbit, aka the membership site, the friends support, menus, badges, motivating prompts and so much more. When I bought it I really didn’t know much except I had to have one.
I love the feeling of being able to be in control. This simple knowing of really getting a true picture of my health seemed to be just out of my reach before my #Fitbit purchase.

This knowing equates to the new found knowledge and power of self discovery that is only a result of the fitbit package, as you can trust me when I say I could write my own book about whats out there as I may very well have tried most, if not all methods and products that are suppose to inspire or work to keep you motivated to exercise and eat right.

The online #Fitbit tools allowed me to enter in my caloric intake so I could truly track how much food I still needed to eat for the day, or not eat.

Of course you may think its simple to know what to eat if you are healthy, but that not always the case if you totally blow out your metabolism from yo yo dieting as I have.

Truth is I often under-eat which ultimately causes my body to store fat as a stress response to a message that I’m in starvation mode.

The online tools coupled with the constant calculations of the steps I take resulting in burned calories is the quintessential key to understanding what my person, my body, my very own specific needs are in terms of what I have to do to get to where I need to be in my health.

Im excited for week 2

Maybe I’ll even set a new goal soon..I’ll check back at the beginning of week 3.

My New Fitbit!

Fitbit Charge - Black, Small

Well I did it, I invested in my health(again) and this time I feel super awesome about staying motivated.

I purchased a FITBIT Charge HR last weekend and I have to say it has a lot to offer in terms of information, message boards, tracking, sleeping, I cant even tell you how much as I just got it a few days ago and I have much to explore.

I’ve been doing great with setting challenges prior to buying my #fitbitchargerhr as we recently have been caring for a friends dog since February( extendo pet sitting, great dog BTW, his name is Duke) which of course left me ( and my family)no choice but to gain some good walking habits every day( except my recent short recovery after a slip on ice which re-injured my left ankle two weeks ago, ouch! Dog didn’t even help me back up, ugh!)

Despite my wish to not break my walking habits, I did have to take a small break and gave my ankle a rest last week cause the swelling and pain became unbearable, which was just not helping my overall intention of “staying motivated”.

Rested, I finally decided to buy a #fitbitcharge last Saturday

(insert loud applause here  ).

I say bought lightly as my credit card will likely disagree with that analogy. However I am fine with the affirmation that

I DESERVE IT!

So I plan to write about my trials and tribulations and hope that this new device will inspire , motivate and intrigue me longer than the normal 2-3 months will usually ends with me fizzling off the health wagon wishing I hadn’t months later when I feel like a bag of poop again.

I noticed yesterday when I charged my #fitbit , when I unplugged it a cute little message “HUG ME” displayed on the screen. HOW ADORABLE!!!! I’m totally in Love

Weekly Totals ( Since Saturday March 21,2015)

  • 63,969 steps
  • 44.39 km

So far this week!  (can you believe that) !
