Onward Winter
Soft whispers of wind
brushing through trees
feelings of contentment
with a cool autumn breeze
The termination of summer
long nights to begin
new crystals of frost
tossed from a hand of snowy winds
A rebirth of new snowflakes
dancing with joy
in anticipation of winter
amidst a snowy white sky
A glistening new blanket
like diamonds of kings
covering molehills and mountains
as the wind softly sings

WITNESS
UNFORGOTTEN PAIN LINGERS, HESITANT
REMINISCENT COLD FINGERS TAP AT MY SOUL
DEATH
CRINGING AS THE SCENT OF SORROW
PARALLELS PAIN MOCKING MY YESTERDAY
BOUQUETS
OF DRY FLOWERS NOW PALED, ENCAPSULATED
CURLED CRISP FROZEN IN TIME , EMBEDDED
DUST
A CRUEL REMINDER THAT NO BEAUTY IS EVERLASTING
FOR ONCE LIFE HAS BEGAN SO HAS THE PROMISE OF THE END
INEVITABLE
WE CLING TO THAT WHICH MUST RENEW
NEVER TRULY KNOWING THE OUTCOME BEFORE OUR TIME
FREE
OF PAIN UNYIELDING
YET ATTEMPTING TO DEFY THE NEXT JOURNEY
NO END
ONLY CONTINUANCE, SPIRIT SOARS HIGH, NO PAIN
I WONDER IF THOSE SOULS THAT LEAVE

It was only yesterday that I knew life like this
It was only yesterday when you no longer did exist
It was only yesterday when I felt such sorrow, such doom
It was only yesterday, when your left this earth too soon
I am still grateful for the short time that we had
I am still grateful for the for the love mixed with sad
I am still grateful that you loved me so long and true
I am still grateful and so very thankful for these fond memories of you.

Tumbling down a grassy hill
Jagged stones locked in her hair
I wish I wish I wish I could
Just tumble out of here
Grass stained knees the smell of summer
Carefree days that never end
Visions of dark blue skies reflect in her eyes
As she ran back up the hill again
Something about the rolling felt like freedom
Something about the dirt just smelled so clean
She wished one day things could be different
But the future could not be seen
Laying on the earth she felt connected
As close to God as one could be
One more tumble down the grassy hill
As the hands of nature set her free

Love Resides
With every dark day
With every droplet of rain
Love cleanses, love resides
For each hurt and each sadness
Every ounce of pain
Love replenishes, love does not deny
With every joy and every challenge
Even those we take in vain
Love rejoices love embraces, love does not subside
For every time you feel lost and shamed
Given up on life or rewarded with pain
Love will always be ready to lead the way
Love has no end
Love is your friend
even when you feel lost in the cold
Love never ends

Cold air whispers
Venting relief from summer’s heat
Fall hastening nudges
its soon time I must go greet
Mother natures request undeniable
bloomed bountiful colors enhance
Beautiful earth rejoices
as colored leaves prepare for their dance
Fallen leaves crisp not forgotten
As summer prepares to sleep
sweet wind sings a new song
in harmony nature does reap.

Numb despondency redundant
a raging river flows haphazardly
risking saneness
beneath a cloudless sky
Rugged scars superficial
as the underbelly of rocks
reach up clutching
camouflaging the true distress
Beneath the currents haste
gently redirecting the absoluteness of the moment
The rivers flow thick with irregularities
stimulating inconsistency
Rapids lead to waterfalls flowing
overflow calmed
the rivers storm disengaged.

Set Your Heart Free
Should you wonder anything about me
You will find I have a history
One unlike yours, but that’s okay
You and I are not the same
Yet we may be alike, in some subtle way
Should you speak to me
You may become intrigued, or maybe not
Maybe find yourself wondering
What does she think she’s got, that’s okay
You and I are not the same
Perhaps one day , we will speak again
Should you decide to judge me
You may feel righteous, even strong
You might say, “I know I’m never wrong”
But what do you really know, its okay
You and I are not the same
To judge these differences may appear a little vain
Should you decide to know me
You may be surprised by what you find
Perhaps new things you may not mind, that’s okay
You and I may be a little the same
This life we have at times feels like a game
Clarity of mind will not help you see
Openness of heart, will set your heart free

Lashing out at me in rage anger
Speaking ill of my name and my strife
Forgetting all good and the love I have offered
Your perception is yours, not truth of my life
Why such dark anger and aversion do you offer
Lurking round corners my soul tainted thrashed with this hate
Poisoning those who had not met me with your lies no regret
This reflection you cast in your dark rain is not my fate as you berate
Just leave me alone in your cowardly scorn
I’ll do my best to forgive this negatively you rain
Your words and your hatred just the inner sadness of your soul
Such sadness I see, this pain that you hold
Your reflection of you and nothing more than your pain
This is but you your dark rain , not me nor my name
This picture you’ve painted lines smeared you lash out
Never speaking to me these claims you cast out
such foul words that you’ve said
too much anger resentment built up in your head
Exploding the surroundings of those that dare enter your dark dread
So leave my name not on your lips
For I have a lot of good that you do not express
And this world that you live in, it’s only your world don’t you see?
Your anger is not mine to own it’s yours, so just let me be
